Cloven Crest or Barhedrin Ridge is a hill in the Old Kingdom near the Wall[1] which currently has a Charter Stone and a guard tower upon it. During the years of Interregnum the Charter Stone was broken, hence "Cloven" Crest, but it was restored by King Touchstone I, who also erected the tower.
Sabriel[]
In Sabriel, she skis from The Wall to Cloven Crest and enters Death on the hill. A creature, Thralk, attacks her as she is returning to Life, due to her failed diamond of protection. She's victorious in the battle, but the Dead creature informs Kerrigor of what happened, who then sends a Mordicant after Sabriel.
