Mosrael is the second of the Nine Bright Shiners. In The Beginning, Mosrael became part of the Charter. As a bell, Mosrael is called the Waker, who brings dead bodies to life as the wielder takes their place in Death in a see-saw effect. It was wielded by Sanar and Ryelle together at the binding of Orannis.

Bell Sound[]

Mosrael has a sound like tens of parrots screeching, a noise that bursts into the air and weaves itself into the wind, multiplying into the scream of a thousand birds.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Mosrael is the favored bell of necromancers, though the Abhorsens very rarely use it.
  • Mosrael is heard three times in the series, save for the binding of Orannis: first when Sabriel is trying to open the door in the Long Cliffs toward Abhorsen's House, second when she uses it in tandem with Kibeth to free her father in Death, and lastly by the necromancer who pursues Ferin.
  • Mosrael is one of three bells Idrach forges in Death.
